Do you have any good info on the snowy plover? on Friday I have to attend a class on it to be eligible to keep my permit to commercial fish on the beach. It seems as though this bird is being used as a tool to remove access to our beaches. The book predicted the listing of the plover as a way to cut off access to beaches. Note that the bird is listed as "threatened" from Oregon to Mexico (as if it was possible for a bird with that kind of distribution to go extinct).
This looks like a good place to start.
