New York Student Sues High School for Prohibiting Pro-Life Shirt

(CNSNews.com) - A junior at Fillmore Central High School near Buffalo, N.Y., has filed a federal lawsuit against his school district for ordering him to remove his pro-life T-shirt in violation of his free-speech rights. The Thomas More Law Center, a Michigan-based public interest law firm, and the American Catholic Lawyers Association are representing the student, Kevin Dibble, who was told by the school principal that the message on his T-shirt was offensive and therefore prohibited. The T-shirt read, "Abortion is Homicide. You will not silence my message. You will not mock my God. You will stop killing my generation. Rock for Life." Dibble said he had worn the same shirt to school several times before he was stopped - and suspended for refusing to remove it. "This is another example of a school taking sides in the abortion issue and attempting to silence a student's message because it disagrees with it," said Richard Thompson, chief counsel of the Thomas More Law Center.

What about sperm?

This can not be an argument so it must be a tacit admission that you are scientifically challenged.

Sperm is alive.

Right so is bacteria in you butt.

Just because it has not made it to the egg, does that mean that its life is not significant?

LOL.

Why not legally protect sperm?

You need help, you must have snoozed through every biology class you ever took.

You did take biology, no?

It is arrogance in the EXTREME for one citizen to think he may decide what is and is not a proper source of belief for another citizen in a representative republic.

You got that right! I could not agree more!

Everyone should have the freedom to work out what is best for them and for their family. After that they can, if they choose, try to influence what the community, the state, the nation and the world does to make things better.

"What about sperm? Sperm is alive."

Not sure what to make of this. You DO know the difference between HUMAN life and sperm? The rest of the post is too confused to comment on. And since you evaded comment on the points I made in my #75 I think I have been more than accomodating to comment to the degree that I have.

So a retarded person isn't alive because they lack self-awareness?

First of all, no one is "pro-death" - that is contrary to mature reason.

Ever been to New England? Bio-ethicists at Dartmouth in New Hampshire are VERY 'pro-death'. The mutual circle-jerk they were involved in while Terri Schindler was being murdered was one of the most revolting scenarios I have ever encountered. Plenty of the locals aqctually admire these idiots.

"Everyone should have the freedom to work out what is best for them and for their family. After that they can, if they choose, try to influence what the community, the state, the nation and the world does to make things better."

Mr. Semper, God bless you, it is impossible to argue with a man who makes up facts and truths out of whole cloth without regard to their historical inconsistancey and factual truth (and without regard for the damage they may do to HIS OWN argument). Try to square your above quote with your stated position and you former posts!

I gotta go tend the business. See you tomorrow.

Only the self-righteous "pro-lifers" have a lock on what should be done in other people's families.

What about those who oppose incest?

Life has a determinable beginning and a demonstrable end. There are no facts which trump this.

Do you remember when your life began? Are you sure that your life is encompassed by what you can now perceive? Are you sure that your life is totally dependent upon this human experience? If we are created in the image and likeness of an infinite God are we not infinite also? How can infinite life have a beginning or an ending? Can human beings destroy what an all powerful God has created?

Just a few questions in the realm of the spiritual. It is good not to confuse the human with the spiritual.

What about those who oppose incest?

Good question. I am interested in the answer to that by those who believe in the literal interpretation of the Adam and Eve account of procreation.

There is no self awareness before birth.

I am not sure you are self-aware right now. You may only think you are. Seriously, if it take the self to confirm that the self is aware, how would anyone outside the self ever say for certain that the self is not aware?

In other words, you argument allows for anything to be self aware. Or else, prove to me a tree or a rock is not self aware. "Self-awareness" is always decided by someone other than the self, such as a man saying "Hey, he said he's alive!" or a doctor saying, "See, he has brainwaves!" It's a ridiculous concept and beyond your proof.

People can be pro-death. You assume people are always both mature and reasonable. One does not drive a car in order to get killed however people do get an abortion for the expressed purpose of ending a life. Sorry, your example fails in a fairly obvious level.

Talk about being an overwhelming victor, this would be a cake walk.

Unless, of course, you have a judicial activist who is out to make some sort of point, a.k.a. Terri Schiavo.
