I join in prayer for the safe return of this little one!
Mothers accosted by knife wielding strangers do not "leave" strollers......they scream their heads off and fight like hell to get the baby out of the stroller and out of harms way. This story stinks and I wouldn't be surprised if it is phoney.
It would be interesting to know if the mother is a Christian Arab or a muslim who has disobeyed the leaders?
If I wanted to commit a crime today, wearing a full muslim
outfit would hide all of me and be easy to take off.
Local 11pm news says there are some inconsistencies in Mom's story but so far no one is a suspect.
This update suggests that this might be a mother/boyfriend/girlfriends incident.
Amber Alert Issued For Kidnapped Baby Girl
Girl Taken From Mother At Knifepoint

PHILADELPHIA -- An amber alert has been issued for a 3-month-old baby girl who was taken from her mother at knifepoint Thursday near Olney Avenue and Marvine.
The baby, named Zaya Young, is 25 to 30 inches tall, approximately 20 pounds and was last seen wearing a pink and white striped hat with a pink jacket and white socks.
Tierra Young, 17, Zaya's mother, told police that about noon she was walking home after picking up the baby from a baby sitter when she was approached by a black woman in Muslim garb. The woman allegedly approached the mother with a knife and told her to get away from the baby.
The mother went to get help, and when she returned she found the stroller was empty, police said.
A short while later, witnesses said that they saw a woman fitting the mother's description putting a baby into 90s model dark, compact sedan, perhaps a Ford Tempo.
A high-ranking police official close to the investigation told NBC 10 News that there are many inconsistencies in the mother's story, but they are still frantically looking for the child.
Zaya's grandmother begged for the return of the 3-month old.
"This is not right, this is not right, there is nothing right in this. This is a baby, this is an innocent 3-month-old baby. ... Bring the baby back, bring the baby back, whoever has the baby, bring the baby back, safe," said Angela Young Smith.
Friday night, police questioned the baby's father and the father's pregnant girlfriend.
Police served a search warrant on a home in the Olney section of the city, looking for evidence.
If you have seen the baby or have any information about this case, call Northwest Detectives at (215) 686-3353.
bump. Just saw that too.
Waves hi from across the river :)
One messed up family. Mom 17, dad has another girl same age knocked up.
Another truth is stranger than fiction story ....
How sad for the baby.

Is the whale still in the Philly River?
This is why I stopped watching the local news. The city is less than 20 minutes away and it may as well be a different country. And serving a warrant in Olney...wow, I'm just *shocked*...I mean, I just have to lie down. For those of you not familiar with Philly, Olney/Strawberry Mansion/Germantown = 1983 Beirut.
It left. I don't blame it, the Delaware is filthy!

ROFLMAO!
Thank God we get our water from Lake Octororo. If the county did one thing right, it was running a pipeline out there all those years ago.
I agree. Most mothers would fight to the death before they let someone take their child.
Lake Octororo
Never heard of it. What county is it in?
I actually spelled it wrong...it's Octoraro. It sits on the county line between Lancaster and Chester counties. Quite a ways to get (southern) Delaware County water, but worth it.
When I was married we lived in Lindenwold. There was a recreational lake to go swimming and boating in. Wonder if it's still there. I'm going back many years! 1979-80
Anywhere is better than here :(
