Are you, along with our president, in favor of bring democracy to the muslim world, or do you, along with the hysterical dingbat who wrote this article, want to wage war against Islam?
You do recognize that these aims are mutually exclusive, right? (You do know what "mutually exclusive" means, right?) How do you intend to "wage war on Islam" exactly? I'm genuinely curious. What part about "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," don't you understand? Or will our next Patriot Act circumscribe that?
I know it feels great to bitch about Islam. Hell, there's a #%&* mosque about three miles from my house. But what I wonder is this: Does anyone with a functioning brain think that bringing democracy to the moslem world OR declaring a war on Islam is the answer? Note well: these are NOT THE SAME GOAL. The president, for all of his faults, realizes this. I fear that many posters don't.
You sound like a pretty smart and reasonable person, so would you please tell me how the civilized world long stay at peace with the ilk of even those so called, main stream, moderate Muslims, who exploded into a crazed and murderous world wide mob, over a little thing like somebody alegedly disrespecting one copy of the Koran?
In my humble opinion those folks need to develope a sense of humor and stop taking themselves so seriously.
