Tell the Newsweek scum what you think
I sent them an email... excerpt follows...
Newsweek magazine has sunk to new lows in the attacks on America by idiotic liberal media. Your false reporting on the Koran will create many more suicide bombers who will be attacking our soldiers in many locations, killing and
maiming many of them. There will be marines going to homes to tell relatives that their loves ones were killed in the Middle East.
I call upon your Editor in Chief to personally contact Al Jazeera and do an interview with them, explaining in detail how and why this reporting mistake was made, and apologizing for your magazine's lack of zeal in its search for truth. Afghanis will probably not believe the U.S. government when it denies (however correctly) that no such incident happened. However, if YOUR MAGAZINE makes it crystal-clear directly to the Afghan people that the report was a grievous mistake, the situation may still be salvaged.

Subject: Congratulations Newsweek
I would like to congratulate Newsweek for erasing any doubt in my mind that the liberal media will stop at nothing to undermine the war effort. I'm sure that if it were Bill Clinton and not Gorge W. Bush, the media would treat the war differently. Where was this media during the Kosovo air war?
Putting that aside, I cant really blame the author of the fake Koran piece. After all, it was a small article barely covering half a page. He must have thought that it was just a little more Bush bashing. Everyone does it and it's just a small fabrication. He didn't intend for it to result in rioting and scores of deaths.
Your lie has put at risk the lives of the very people who guarantee your right to publish anything you want. In case you haven't noticed, bin Laden and company don't really value press freedom very much. I can't begin to imagine what the left seeks to gain from an allied defeat. The only thing I can see is it would make Bush look bad. For some like you at Newsweek, that is the most important thing.
For the record, I'd read Newsweek regularly in the past. This was the first issue I picked up in a few months and I have no intention of ever reading or supporting such trash again.
I can only imagine how people like you sleep at night.
