LA is toast, but it was already headed in that direction.And to think that back in the 1950's and 1960's, Los Angeles was the envy of the country, and so many Americans of that period dreamed of moving there someday.

I don't get it. Mexicans come here for the jobs, money and freedom which is another way of saying they're escaping the squalor of their own country. Why on earth would they want the place they've escaped to to morph into the place they're fleeing from? It doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps its the old dog and car thing? Then again maybe applying logic to the situation isn't whats wanted.
