Palestinians used Bible toilet paper Muslims' desecration of holy book received little notice

While Muslims have responded with deadly outrage to the
now-retracted report by Newsweek of alleged Quran
desecration by U.S. interrogators, there was little
outcry three years ago when Islamic terrorists holed up
in Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity reportedly used
the Bible as toilet paper.

Catholic priests in the church marking the spot where
Jesus was believed to have been born said that during
the five-week siege, Palestinians tore up some Bibles
for toilet paper and removed many valuable sacramental
objects, according to a May 15, 2002, report by the
Washington Times.

Newsweek is under fire for a report in its May 9
edition that sparked protests and rioting across the
Muslim world resulting in 17 dead, scores injured,
relief buildings burned down and a setback to years of
coalition-building against terrorists.

Use a bible as toilet paper? Sure, whatever floats your boat. Because the bible is just the vehicle of the word of God and is not holy in and of itself. That would be worshiping an object, and something I remember as being wrong in the bible.

Go ahead, knock your socks off, guys, use the bible as toilet paper. And smile when I build the biggest toilet in the world to flush down the largest number of Korans I can lay my hands on.

Allah understands; a shame you freaks don't.

Yeah, but reporting that wouldn't hurt the U.S. and George Bush. To the left wing press, it's a non event.
The liberals only want the anti-U.S stuff. They can't start Armageddon without it.

I remember this story. I was appalled that no one from the Muslim world condemned the Palestinians who desecrated the most holy site in Christianity. Not a word.

'Greedy monsters' ruled church
The Palestinian gunmen holed up in the Church of the
Nativity and later deported by Israel seized church
stockpiles of food and "ate like greedy monsters" until
the food ran out, while more than 150 civilians went
hungry. They also guzzled beer, wine and Johnnie Walker
scotch that they found in priests' quarters, undeterred by
the Islamic ban on drinking alcohol. The indulgence lasted
for about two weeks into the 39-day siege, when the food
and drink ran out,

"...I was appalled that no one from the Muslim world condemned the Palestinians...."

I was appalled because no one from the Christian world said much either. Look what's happening to Christian churches in the Balkans. And then they have the nerve to even open their mouths about their Koran and mosques.

Heck. They could probably get a grant from the NEA for that.

Muslims wash their backsides with their left hand and a bucket of water. They don't use toilet paper. This story sounds like a tit for tat falsehood that has all the credibility of the NewsWeak BS about flushing a copy of the Koran.

The overwhelming smell of urine was the first thing to hit visitors to Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity after the dramatic and bloody 39-day siege of the compound by the Israeli army. I can't believe this is the house of God, just look at it The people found dirty dishes piled up on an altar and filthy blankets and the detritus of the siege strewn across the ancient stone floor. As well as the blankets, journalists saw mattresses, lemon peel, lighters, sunglasses, a tube of toothpaste, a bottle of aftershave, plastic bags, cigarette butts, a comb and large cooking pots in the central aisle. A metal stove and gas canisters had been placed on one side for cooking. The panes of several windows near the ceiling were broken, but there appeared to be no other damage. Priests said some of the gunmen and foreign activists had initially slept there because it was the warmest spot, but had been persuaded to leave so that daily services could be held there. One priest complained that foreigners who had slipped in during the siege had desecrated the church by smoking and drinking alcohol."This is the place where Jesus was born. I can't believe this is the house of God, just look at it," said Sandy Shahin, a Roman Catholic teenager who rushed into the church minutes after the end of the siege on Friday. "It's not a church any more, it's a place filled with beds and trash," she said between sobs. Father Nicholas, a Franciscan priest from Mexico, denied Israeli claims that the several dozen nuns and priests who had stayed in the compound during the siege were hostages. "We were there by choice," he said, to protect the sanctity of the site. Having initially expropriated precious items such as candelabras, icons and candlesticks, Father Nicholas said the valuables were later returned. Israeli bomb experts swept the church at the request of some of the priests and said they found 40 explosive devices, several booby-trapped and hidden in corners and behind cupboards.

When the Newsweek report first surfaced (like a bubble in the toilet) I recalled the takeover of Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity by Islamists. I applaud World Net Daily because they were the only news service to raise the issue.

The reason no one was surprised at the Palestinian desecration of the Church is because Muslims are savages and can be expected to act savagely. It would be foolish in the extreme to expect anything else.

The depth of outrage over this false Newsweek report is indicative of the mindset of the entire Muslim world.

Whatever they do against anyone who is not Muslim is fine because we are all infidels, but any offense against them is to be treated has the most horrible crime.

I'm sure its been noticed repeatedly, but no liberal ever gives a clear answer on this.

Why do we expect Christians, especially Americans to be held to a higher standard of behavior then muslims or anyone else for that matter?

Is it really supiority thinking if everyone, including the left wing itself, acts like "we" should know better or is it because deep down they also believe "we" really are better?

Notice that when the "art" piece with the cross placed in urine was put out on display, while there may have been protests, there were no riots, and the artist who created it, is alive, happy and without armed guard.

Now, if that had been a islamic crescent, does anyone think the reaction of the offended would have been different, or is it conceded that it would have been?

Perhaps the media might as well say it.

We are civilization and act like civilized people, they are savage barbarians, our worst behavior, in our darkest moments still is preferrable to them in their best moments of behavior.

I for one don't believe that this was an offense against them.
Just merely an excuse (any will do) for some to be who they truly are,
murderous barbarian animals.

I am just sick of this. It is okay to do anything you want to a Christian or a Jewish person and there Holy Bible or the Torah but God forbid you do something to the Koran if I am not mistaken there was a story about 2 years ago at Gitmo that the criminals themselves where flusing paper down the toilet. I find it hard to believe with all the PC crap going on to fight this war that our military was not under tight orders.

The pictures depict a mess, but even the text does not support the assertion that the bible was used as toilet paper. Had a Christian acted that way in a Mosque, the Muslims would have had a world wide riot...as they just did over a false assertion about the Koran.

You got that right.

Were dealing with a religion of which the majority believers are still in a 12th century mentality and are the all time poor ignorant savages.

Their minds can not comprehend peace and joy, only hatred Hatred is the only thing they have to hang on to in their miserable surroundings.

It's no wonder that Noah said these camel jocks would all ways serve the Jews.

You got to wonder about whether or not these creeps really did use the bible as toilet paper.

Why? Because they wipe their butts with their hand after doing a number two.
They probably used the bible to wipe the fecal matter off their hands before eating lunch.
