"And this was supposed to be a safe place?" said Parker, 66. "The state owes us an apology."Snort.

Ya know, it's really hard to argue someone who has suffered a loss such as these people have. But blaming the Gov for not knowing exactly what areas would be affected by an eruption of indeterminate size and duration is just plain silly.
Hindsight is 20/20.

Make the mountain apologize.
To: Libloather
Actually, the volcano owes you an apology.
Believe it or not, it's the volcano that killed your relatives. It isn't for the supposedly all knowing state to be your nanny.

How about: "We're sorry your relatives were so stupid."
To: Libloather
What are they looking for? Money from the state? A chance to sue?

Well, it WAS Bush's fault don't ya know.
To: LIConFem
Had they shut down a larger area and nothing happened someone would have sued for monetary losses...

Maybe they can get Gaia to apologize to them.

It's Bush's fault, it's Halliburton's fault, its Cheney's fault.

Welcome to Amerika!!My forefathers are spinning in their graves.
The case against the state was dismissed in 1985, after the court ruled that state officials did not know how destructive the eruption was going to be.
Well....DUH!
