He did renounce MEChA last week:

You'll note that it was slightly half-hearted. And, it was also last week.

That's about three decades after he was in the group. And, it's also weeks or months *before* he received endorsements from worthies like Magic Johnson.

That means they supported him probably knowing he was in that group, that they supported him *before* he had renounced that group, and AV's renouncement also means that he agrees that group is not something one should be proud of.

AV is now a national figure. Hopefully the MSM will now feel free to look into his background and that of people like Cedillo, Nunez and the rest.

I read just about every page on that Bruin link, but I didn't see where he renounced the Aztlan goals of Mecha. Did you post the wrong link, or did I not see the right page on the link you provided?
