IUP Football Players Charged in Bar Brawl

Indiana, PA (KDKA) Four IUP football players are now facing charges including aggravated assault and causing a riot after police say a bar surveillance tape caught them assaulting two employees.
Three of the four suspects are from Western Pennsylvania, including Joe Slappy III, of Oakdale; Javon Hines, of Bridgeville; and Kirby Griffin, of Rochester.
According to Indiana Borough police, officers responded to a report of an assault in the early morning hours of May 5th at Wolfendales bar.
Witnesses told police that the four men started punching a male employee -- and injured a female worker as well.
Though the suspects ran off before police arrived, the entire assault was caught on tape by the bar's security camera.

Many of these same guys are also facing charges from when 11 or so football players went nuts at a frat house. I played sports there and am so embarassed. How pathetic. I have also heard that Cignetti was working hard to get the charges against the 11 players dropped.

this takes me back to when the Pelusi brothers, both Pitt football players, tried to strangle someone in a bar in Oakland... ahhhh, the good old days....
great tape. Well I guess my educational tax money is being well spent although I think the diversity issue could use a little work. Just remember your kids have to go to school with these types of thugs and face abuse and intimidation on a daily basis. I played football and it is my favorite sport but I think its time to stop offering sports scholarships. Schools have started recruiting thugs who have no interest in a education. Players should have to meet the grade requirements of any other scholarship students and if the NFL needs a team farm system let them build it. This is a big reversal form what I thought when I was younger.

Ahhh, the good old days. I always hated Wolfendales, what a crappy bar, it's like putting 200 people in my apartment, you're squished up against everyone with nowhere to go.
