EVANSTON -- Some Evanston students want to write letters to Rush Limbaugh. Others want to call him out for a debate.

The reaction to the conservative talk-show host comes after Limbaugh put down Evanston Township High School's multicultural curriculum during his nationally syndicated radio show.

How did these "future leaders" even hear Rush's comments? I thought kids were supposed to be in school in from 11-2 (CDT).

High school students are earnest and passionate enough but they're ignorant. That isn't a criticism, they simply haven't had the time or opportunity to gather an adult's store of knowledge. The smart ones know this.

I think it a little beneath the dignity of a well-adjusted adult to slap the kiddies around even when they're patently idiots. Sometimes I cringe to see it happen on FR. Sometimes I do it. So shoot me.

I am not too sure about Rush's debating skills since he very rarely if ever appears in an environment that permits open debate.

Perhaps it is time to test his debating skills against someone with only a high school education.

Debating them would be a travesty, they would focus exclusively on the Hitler remark, and declare themselves the winners of any discussion. Left wingers aren't interested in facts and logic. There is no intelligent debate, just endless putdowns. Lefties are barely worth talking to. They play to the mob, ignore the question. It has all gotten so old.

"Everyone knows who Hitler is," said senior Brian Minor.

Of course they know who Frank Hitler is. Note "is."

When high school kids can't identify Germany's allies in World War II or tell you within a decade when the Civil War was fought, you've got problems. Rush's not-so-optimistic view of Evanston's curriculum is totally understandable.

"That speaks volumes about how unimportant he is," Hayman said.

LOL! What a moronic, arrogant, doofus!

This "Teacher" probably has no idea how "important" Rush has been to not only the conservative cause, but America. A cause and a people that have been whoopin' dem/lib asses for about ten years now!

This elite prick, as most extreme left dems, still don't realize how IRRELEVANT they have become.

To know Rush Limbaugh is to love Rush Limbaugh - to Not Know Rush Limbaugh is to not care about current events.

You're exaggerating, right?

I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh nor do I need to

I guess that leaves you out of the running.

When the kids think they know more than the adults, they sometimes need a reminder.

You're right that "the smart ones" know that they need some of life's experiences before they lose some of their ignorance. Not all of them "get it" before they graduate.

If there's one world leader in history whom the left know, it's Hitler.

Rush should have used another example, like Neville Chamberlain, or even Stalin.

Actually it was a caller who had a child who did not learn about Hitler that sparked this conversation.

"He said because Evanston students are so focused on other cultures, they "don't know anything about World War II," and "They've probably never heard the name Adolf Hitler"

sounded like he was talking about my former school Oh yes and that senior that says Everyone Knows about WWII is so full of his school. I would challenge him to find the battlesite for Guadalcanal on a map

Like when people refer to the early 90's as "when Rush Limbaugh was popular."

Evanston Supt. Allan Alson said Limbaugh spoke "inaccurately and unconscionably" during his May 10 commentary. "Everyone knows who Hitler is," said senior Brian Minor. "He played second base for the White Sox in the 1940s."

To lib fanatics, debating is simply shouting and name-calling more than your conservative opponent can talk. Rush mops up callers daily, and always lets them make their point first for as long as they are coherent. They usually last about 15 seconds before they go hyperbolic.

Liberal doctrine has no basis in logic or fact, and has always been a historical failure where ever it is tried. Liberals are all either criminal (the leaders) or stupid (the followers). You can substitute the word "ignorant" for stupid above if it makes you feel better.
