They better not have bargained away our option to do away with the judicial filibuster for any future nominees.

I predict (again) that they know they are going to lose filibuster if they don't vote for cloture, they are not willing to lose it yet, so they are giving up for now. We'll see soon.

I never recall a compromise being necessary for Clinton or any other Democrat to get a vote on Judges.

Wait a minute! Clinton is the only Democratic president I can remember lol. Some of you old timers may have to enlighten me.

No matter what, this stinks!

In another eight minutes, I'll learn whether I'll ever give another dime to the Republican Party

My dime ran out after the Arlen Spector debacle.

Always remember, they owe their first allegiance to themselves, their reelection, and the bureaucracy.

What their constituents want is way down the list

So we find out who caved.

The conservatives have nothing to gain with a compromise. The consevatives had the votes...why compromise? Compromise always means conservatives give in.

Let's see if we break that record.

Frist's office is confirming there is a "deaL" which means we have caved again!
Judicial filibuster is preserved and we have caved on some nominees.

Not necessarily. If they think they can filibuster later, then so can Frist invoke the Constitutional option later. If we get up/down votes on each of these nominees, that is not a defeat. If any of them are denied that, or there is a backroom deal to defeat any of them when they otherwise would have passed, then I would agree with you.
