So what? The Judicial nominees get an up or down vote, and Frist keeps the threat of the nuclear option until the next time the obstructionists threaten a filibuster.

It's a useless threat.

The only chance we have to get the filibuster against male nominees ended is putting these RINOs on record against changing it while the face of the nominee is female. White guys don't stand a chance against the character assassination the Rats will spew out. Hell, we barely got Clarence Thomas through.

If Frist doesn't force the issue as I detailed in a Vanity on the topic, it'll be dead and there's no way they'll pull it out for the SCOTUS unless the appointee is also female. And I'm sick of watching highly qualified nominees step aside because they're white and male. Do you approve of this harassment? Because until the filibuster is ended, it will successfully continue.

Frist keeps the threat of the nuclear option until the next time the obstructionists threaten a filibuster.

Except that 7 RINOs pledged this:

B. Rules Changes. In light of the spirit and continuing commitments made in this agreement, we commit to oppose the rules changes in the 109th Congress, which we understand to be any amendment to or interpretation of the Rules of the Senate that would force a vote on a judicial nomination by means other than unanimous consent or Rule XXII.

Dems get to filibuster in case of "extraordinary circumstances" but the GOP of course doesn't get the same deal in terms of the constitutional option.

We got screwed big time.

I blame McCain personally, and I intended to pragmatically support him in 2008 if he ran, up until a few hours ago.

You have it right. Nothing is locked in stone with the socalled compromise.

Actually,it appears to be a clever diversion. The press will swoon,McCain gets his facetime, and three nominees are a slam dunk.

The fight can start again, but this time the dems are on record accepting judges they have vllified for years.

Saad and Myers do not get up or down votes.
