Maybe Baptist denominations don't force pastors to resign if they screw up.
Other denominations do.
Baptists are not denominational in the traditional sense. As long as the preacher can keep most of the deacons and the big givers happy, there is nothing the larger church can do to make him go away. Ordination and pastor selection is handled by the local congregation. The most that the larger church can do is throw them out of the convention.
There is no higher authority as in a Methodist, Episcopal or Catholic church. There is not even a body of equals which can discipline, as in the Presbyterian system. So there is no 'organization to move him on' or 'denomination' to force him to resign.
Yeah-like tha tepiscopal church-- or the Lutherans whose preachers continue to embrace sodomy and malign other churches.
