I agree. If the vigor liberal scholars used to uncover what they believe is the "historic Jesus" were applied to Mohammed I think the world would be truly shocked by the reality of Mohammed's life. Right now Western scholars seem to like Islam because they loath their own cultural roots and that clouds their honesty when dealing with him.
When dealing with Islamists, it is well to remember the children's cautionary tale about giving a moose (for us in Alaska) a cookie. Then he'll demand some milk to go with it. Then he's sleepy and demands a bed, and it goes on from there in like manner. Take a lesson from predicament the Europeans find themselves in.
