Is the fiance still waiting for her or has he run for the hills?

C'mon Freepers.

It's not nice to make fun of the insane.
Even the rich insane.

I thought she was off the hook since she was in Nevada when she got picked up.

So it would either be the Nevada local police, or the FBI, that would charge her.

I rember reading a few places that GA local police couldn't do anything.

From what I had heard, whatever her punishments were for her other crimes, they amounted to little more than slaps on the wrist.

She really needs some serious punishment in order to appreciate the consequence of her actions. I don't think she developed that appreciation the previous times she was in trouble with the law.

I think the fiancee will jump ship.

Turns out that the NY Post tracked down Jennifer former lover in New Mexco, turns out she was going to see him

I can see a sentence of restitution within her means, professional care, and community service.

That would be appropriate justice IMHO.

Yep, that is what Greta's panel said last night. They all said that she should be charged with a misdemeanor, pay restitution, and get psychological help. None of them thought going to jail would be appropriate. Greta thought that they were being too harsh, but they all said that she broke the law, had priors, and needed to be punished. Also, she took something like 90 police officers off of real cases to look for her and had police officers looking for a Hispanic, and gave a description no less, who had abducted and raped her. Additionally, she had subjected her fiance' to being the subject of a murder investigation.

Yes, she needs to be charged, but no jail time. That would serve no purpose.

On one of the news channels they said that they had "heard" that she would plead guilty and pay $14,000.

The grand jury was convening today. Did she need to be indicted before a plea bargain could be made?

Since when is it a crime to have a expensive wedding?

jeez ... look up 'humor' in the dictionary.  You might find it interesting.  Also you might want to explore 'funny', 'joke', 'laughter', 'satire', 'sarcasm', 'wit', 'facetious', 'jest' and 'levity'.

Take that up with the parents. I think that, if and when the couple get married, they should make it a small wedding.

At a time when there are real crimes (e.g., rape, murder, robbery) being committed...

Herein lies the problem in my mind. Tons of police man-hours were wasted needlessly that could have been used solving / preventing real crimes. Punishment must be meted out simply to discourage funloving copycats from repeating the offense.

I wonder why she bothered draping that towel over her head when her picture was being flashed on every news show and printed in every newspaper in the country. Why bother?

On that subject, there are three words that immediately come to mind whenever I see a defendant or suspect being escorted by the police with a towel or blanket over their head...GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY.

That is mean. It would be nice if she would get a good medical check up to see if she has Graves Disease or something. Also, she needs to gain some weight.

I'm so glad to see that time and money is being spent on this horrendous crime. She deserves to have the book thrown at her and do some serious time. We can't have liars running around loose. We need to have court time and space taken up so the really serious offenders can still walk the streets. I think the amount of time spent on her in the media and on forums such as FR is time well spent. We should acknowledge all instances of cold feet brides in the future. The should be held to the flame of our indignation. Do I really need to add ?

Did that guy ever get any money for that?

I don't think so, but I haven't heard any more about it.
