As a result of the latest reckless and unsubstantiated charges leveled at our honorable troops by Linda Foley, a group of bloggers have convened and are fighting back. Today marks the debut of MediaSlander.com. Go check it out.

Linda Foley is part and parcel of what is wrong with journalists today. Her lame clarification: "I was careful of not saying troops, I said U.S. military", digs an even deeper if not sinister hole; are we now to believe there is some group within our military whose job it is to silence reporters? Ms. Foley should be relieved of her job.

When you see this line..."the official asked not to be identified" or this..."from a source at the___ who asks for anonymity....". Just remember this - The problem with anonymity is the lack of accountability. If there is no accountability, there is no story, just another fairy tale.
