"Even the judge appeared stunned reading the verdict -- lethal injection for a young woman." Yea, stunned at the prospect of all that loot her repeated appeals over the next 25 years will generate for his brothers & sisters working the legal "industry".
I'm sure the "Judge" was so happy he could hardly count but was tactful enough to conceal his glee.
Gee whiz tuffy.
Would'ntcha *think* 21 years of age is old enough to realize murdering anyone wrong, but if one does decide to take another's life there is a price to pay if they're caught?
Apparently given the defendant's reaction, she didn't know that!!
...well now she does.

If the killer was a 21 year old MALE gang-banger, nobody would give the death penalty a second thought.
Hopefully, she is not middle aged before the sentence is carried out.

Boo frikkin' hoo. Karla Faye Tucker was 25 when she went on her rampage. And I don't believe for a minute that she ever 'reformed' herself in prison. She reformed herself for the cameras, reporters, and Bianca Jagger. Many inmates seem to find Jesus in prison, especially those on death row.

Being condemned to death guarantees a criminal will be alive for at least twenty more years. This is Texas ...

Even the judge appeared stunned reading the verdict -- lethal injection for a young woman. I stopped reading right there.
That is NOT reporting. That is a subjective opinion.
Oh how I loathe the media...

I don't see the problem people are having with this, and quite frankly, I don't give a rat's behind about the person's age or gender. Conspiring to kill and following through with it should be an instant death sentence.
We have enough evil in this world. Just because this murderer is a young woman and the bleeding hearts WANT to believe otherwise, she should not be given any leniency. She is a murderer and deserves to be given the same justice she gave her victim.

What the hell does her age have to do with it? She's an adult, and fully conscious and understanding of the evil she was committing.
Fry her.

A judge who's stunned by death penalty for a cold-blooded murder should consider another line of work.

Years ago the congress didn't pass the Equal Rights
Amendment but society has. Had she been male there wouldn't
have been any surprise.
The only surprise I have is that anyone was worried about
her sex and age.

"If she's a master manipulator, she's done a mighty poor job," Barlow said in closing arguments, asking for a life sentence. "She may not deserve that chance, but we're begging you for that chance for her to reflect and reform herself."
She will have plenty of time to do that while sitting on DR and through talks with the prison ministry. However justice for those poor murdered parents should be delivered swiftly.

I don't think people have a problem with it in general. The judge was probably surprised (although I'm curious as to what "appeared surprised means" I doubt he jumped up on the bench and said "Holy Sh*T you're executing her!" and then slapped himself in the forehead and fainted) As the stat pointed out for whatever reason, a lot of women don't get the Ax. I would imagine that bias usually comes from the jury. I'm kind of surprised she got death. She's no model, but she does have a "baby face" so i would have thought she would have gotten more sympathy. Lets face it, it's easier to send an ugly girl to the chair then to send Cindy Crawford. Or maybe that's just me :)

She's probably got, at most, about 10 years. We tend to cycle them through quickly in Texas.

Many inmates seem to find Jesus in prison, especially those on death row. If a person is sincere in "finding Him" it matters not where this occurs. One convict found Him while hanging on a cross.
But this shouldn't mitigate the punishment for acts which occurred prior to one's finding Him.
