And most of those parents are U.S. citizens; that is where your argument fails. You are punishing a "patriotic" LPR for the "unpatriotic" act of a true citizen. Only if you are allowed to go into the weeds with a faulty premise.
I have an opinion about citizens who behave likewise, but is irrelevant and I won't allow you to change the subject.
You may assume anything you wish. Stupidity is not a crime. I just question your assumption of "..a "patriotic" LPR", as opposed to one who is an opportunist and an enemy within, even though a child is a hero. The point being that the two are not mutually exclusive..
