911 call recording played in court (U.S. Marshall in Road Rage Incident)
The Washington Times ^ | 5-27-05 | Arlo Wagner

A Montgomery County jury yesterday heard a tape recording of the 911 call a 20-year-old sailor placed after a deputy U.S. marshal shot him in the foot in a parking lot in Rockville last fall. Several minutes later, Seaman Ryan T. Stowers, of Redding, Calif., was dead. "Yeah, someone just shot me in the left foot," Seaman Stowers shouted to the 911 dispatchers. "I can't believe he just ... he just ... shot me." Seaman Stowers is referring to Arthur L. Lloyd, who is on trial for fatally shooting the sailor after the two men fought outside Mid-Pike Plaza on the night of Oct. 28.

Life in prison or death. LEo's just do not "fight" in a parking lot then shoot when they are losing.

Don't be surprised if he is acquitted.

My son attends the Naval Academy and I shudder everytime he tells me he left the grounds and went into town ( further than the waterfront beside the grounds ).

How long before the "police officers have a tough job" and "I'm sure there is more to this story" apologists arrive?

They appear every time the police raid the wrong house in the middle of the night and point weapons in little kids' faces.

But he's a law enforcement officer, not a drug-dealing scumbag. They'll be sure to convict. They won't give him the death penalty, though, because his victim was a young man serving his country honorably, not a drug-dealing scumbag.

I was stationed at Ft Meade in the late nineties. I don't count Maryland as a Military friendly state.

Best wishes for your son

Police officers do have a difficult job, one I would never want to have to do myself. That, however, does not excuse this POS. This sounds like a personal argument where the dude lost his cool entirely. It's murder, plain and simple. If he's convicted, don't bother with lengthy appeals, etc. Just shoot him in his chair right there next to his lawyer, hose down the floor, and holler "next".

LOL! How long before the cop bashers arrive and quickly get off point?

This pr**K US Marshall, not a police officer, needs to be convicted.

Just a person with a badge abusing his authority. Being Maryland I wouldn't be surprised if he is acquitted.

Drinking and driving don't mix, as of late, add "stupid cops and guns."

I am starting to think I have more to be afraid of from cops, than I have of criminals.

With criminals, I would know what to do, but cops have now become an unknown quality.

I wouldn't want to be one either, but the people that are cops love it and have the time of their lives. In what other line of work could a person have so much authority and power?

It's not like their jobs are so hard anyway. Most are not patrolling war zone inner cities - most are just patrolling around writing tickets for traffic offenses.

Those are involved in raids and SWAT love it too since they can play military.

"How long before the "police officers have a tough job" and "I'm sure there is more to this story" apologists arrive?"

Of the most dangerous jobs in America, cops rank #39th, below even janitors. (Last I heard, loggers #1, commercial fishermen #2)

It's not off the point. Get into a personal altercation with a law enforcement officer and you lose every time. You think this guy had any problem flashing his badge around when it suited him?

And yet all the time you hear of officers making "routine" traffic stops while on their "not so hard" jobs getting shot and killed, or run down, because the person in the car was either guilty of another crime (unbeknownst to the officer at the time) or they just don't like officers or authority figures. To attempt to link your average Joe officer to the behavior of this nutbag Marshall is a bit of a stretch.

The fact this killer happens to be a US Marshall doesn't really play into this particular case at all, from the way I read it. He's just a guy who road-raged himself into killing someone.

There is no rest of the story.

This "Marshall" was pissed at this kid. Shot him in the back as the kid was trying to get away from him.
