Atlanta police apprehended Carl Edward Roland, 41, about 12:30 a.m. Assistant Police Chief Alan Dreher said an officer was able to reach Roland with the Taser, which delivers an electric shock, when the apparently thirsty man stepped toward the officer to get a cup of water.
The officer casually reached into his left breast pocket, withdrew the stun gun, pointed it at Roland and shot.
As Roland fell over onto the crane floor, the black baseball cap he had worn since the standoff began Wednesday drifted to the ground.
Authorities all along had emphasized their strategy was to wait Roland out and prevent him from jumping.

Thanks. I've been concerned that anyone trying to "rescue" him would be harmed or fall w/him. The wife who "bothered" him is one lucky woman.....he could have killed her instead of the girlfriend.
