There's this Nast political cartoon from the 1800s showing Catholic cardinals crawling ashore looking like alligators.

Some folks just can't get over it can they?

Like an African-American friend of mine told a homeowners association meeting about their rejection of his idea of converting 1 fo 35 tennis courts into a basketball court "We're here"! (and that applies to Catholics and those who think Catholics should have a right to live in America and particpate in public life)
