It sounds as if he's rather confused. But he's right about one thing. Leftists should hate Islam for its fascist principles. The problem is that they hate America so much it blinds them. Maybe this will wake a few leftists up.

Actually I would agree with almost all this guy says in this article. Islam will be advancing because as Hillaire Belloc says, it contains many moral truths that the modern atheist/pagan religion of today does not (as all heresies do). Its flaws will seem small to people today because of all the anti-Christian nonsense that has come and still comes from the intellectual establishment of the past 40 years or so.

Historically, Islam and Christianity have been two religions that have both had great success converting pagans, but almost no success at converting Muslims to Christians or Christians to Muslims. That's why there are still Christians in Iraq to this day. They have spent over 1,000 in exile under Muslim rule.

But I also think that Christianity will be on the rebound with Islam. Maybe not just yet but in 25-50 years from now I would think it would be very likely.

And I have no problem with the state spending money on social programs like he does. Just the social programs should be rooted in Christian morality, or better yet, run by Christian groups. When it comes to public schools, PBS, and the National Endowment for the Arts it could not be money worse spent!

To: Cicero; A. Pole; TexKat; Gucho; Ernest_at_the_Beach; MEG33; Grampa Dave; gatorbait; PhilDragoo; ...

"But much of his criticism is reserved for the West, which is only too eager to flagellate itself for its alleged shortcomings while rushing to understand its opponents’ point of view (the Newsweek imbroglio over the alleged desecration of the Koran at Guantanamo Bay detention base, a story it later withdrew, is just the latest example). Even in America, “the political class has lost confidence in itself”, he complains.

The American imperium, Selbourne argues, “is in a state of confusion”. Its time will pass, just as Rome, Byzantium and the British Empire fell away. The West is losing the battle against Islam for the “same reason the British lost the American colonies. They had insufficient forces, their counsels were divided, and they underestimated their opponents.

As for the Europeans: “They’re anti-American because of fear of Islam, which is being projected as Bush-phobia. People are very frightened by Islam’s strength and they need to blame somebody for it.”

Thank you "A.Pole"
One America is not imperium
two Not all Europe is lost Brytania Italia Eastern Europe do know this
three "they underestimated their opponents."Come to Iraq

Maybe this will wake a few leftists up.

Maybe if the major bookstores promote it by putting it in a toilet in the front window. They might notice something like that, but it sounds like it isn't hate-Bush enough.

The masses aren't likely to read it . . .
