Fine. But let me ask you this question. What if Google ignores 4th of July and does not put up a commemorative motif in their logo? Would you then agree with me?
The issue is that they change their logo for some really obscure days, but not Memorial Day.
Same here. I switched my homepage and search page to Dogpile.
I'm sure they had special colors for their annual May Day celebration.

GOOGLE HOLIDAY LOGOS FROM 1999 TO 2005
I use Google a lot but never thought about how they don't change their logos for the meaningful holidays. I emailed them about this and will give dogpile a try. Thanks.
Can't find any "news agencies" links or anything pertaining to DU.
It is the fashion among the very rich high-tech geeksters to hate America. I know some in Central Texas...

No.
But, Google does this for virtually every major, or even semi-major holiday.
Missing Memorial Day is pretty big.
"You are guilty of the same naivete that caused some conservatives to regard with bafflement the refusal of the major publishing houses on the East coast to publish conservative books, in the face of obvious commercial successes enjoyed by such books. Why, since these companies were ostensibly for profit, would they consciously refuse to publish surefire bestsellers?
Ann Coulter ran into the same issue when 3 major publishers turned her down before her latest was published. When asked the reason, one reportedly said that the main goal of that publishing house was to further national dialogue!! Imagine that.
Welcome to the world of the avowed leftist ideologue, where they would cut off their own nose, just to spite their opponent."
Well said.
For some publishing firms, it is even worse. Conservative publishing firms have been bought out, then their unique views suppressed, at evident commercial cost to the bigname publisher.
They apparently don't do Christmas, either.
They also miss Presidents day and Columbus day btw.
Maybe they are celebrating the holidays of SF Liberals.
Their Christmas is notably 'safely' secular - national polar bear and green tree day.
It doesn't bother me. I don't understand why that should be a requirement for a business. It is nice if they did have such a banner, but I don't see it as an insult that they don't. BTW, I don't see any special banner on the FreeRepublic page that I link to.
Google customarily alters its logo to commemorate many other holidays. None of those other sites do.
On the Google site, the omission of a special logo for Memorial Day is glaring. It pretty much had to be a deliberate choice not to do so for today.
bttt
I think you missed the poster's point. Google takes pains to decorate their logo for whatever "day" it happens to be. Earth Day, Mother's Day, whatever. I think Memorial Day is right up there with Earth Day. Yeah, right up there about a million miles higher.
Now I am pi@@ed.
