Actually, '64 1/2. I had one. Mine had a 260 V-8 motor. The 1965 optional V-8 was a 289, which was a 260 block btw.

The first year for the Mustang was '65.

IIRC the first Mustang came out in early '64. I remember that because a girl I worked with bought one of the 1st ones in our town. It could have been titled as a '65 model I suppose, but it was introduced much earlier than usual for that era.
