Authorities in Frederick County, Md., have begun investigating a report of repeated incidents in which eighth-grade boys fondled and taunted first-grade girls on a public school bus last fall. The mother of one first-grade girl said she first learned of the fondling accusations this month and is criticizing school officials for not alerting her. Detective Willie Ollie of the Frederick County Sheriff's Department said he has opened an investigation into the case.

Makes me have so much faith in our government-run publik skools.
LOL. preparation for prison.
Dont know how slutty she was...just mentally ill.
The Public education system is dumping ground for the academicly challenged and mentally ill (as far as teachers go.) Don't get me wrong...there are many good teachers, but at the same token those many when compared to the whole...are too few.
Exactly!
Take your kid OUT of school ping!
"I said on another thread that hitting should be the last option in a parent's arsenal and saved for the worst of transgressions. This is a perfect example of one."
It's a strange thing. Hitting is essential, yet should be used rarely. It takes common sense in the application, and that's why liberals oppose it so much, they lack sense.
Babies - never, ever spanked.
Young child - Around 1 to 5 years old, should be spanked for safety, (don't run in the street). And for impasses, (when they try to see who is boss).
Kids - 6 to 11 or 12, should be spanked only on severe infractions. Generally these kids if spanked earlier won't require spanking. Reasoning with them actually works!
Young adults - 13 and up, almost never should be struck. A case like this story about fondling is one of the rare cases where I'd apply force, and lots of it.
Just my view on this topic. :)
BTW, I'm in favor of corporal punishment at school too. (It worked for me).
More like preparation for the presidency of the U.S.
My kid would probably still be walking funny from the doctors removing my boot from his butt.
School buses, in my opinion, should have adult supervision onboard.
What responsible parents would allow their elementary age children to spend 30 minutes or so at a neighbor's house, where there were as many as 20 other children -- AND NO ADULTS? No many! But how many parents allow their children to ride school buses?
A school bus is the same as a sitting room, on wheels, with no adults to keep an eye on the safety and welfare of the children. Oh, yes, there's a driver, but the driver cannot possibly supervise the children.
Parents should insist that school buses be supervised.
WRONG it's Bush's fault
If my son did something like this, I'd make sure it was the last time. And better me than his dad. (But because he has a father who does not condone or exhibit behaviors like this - it should never happen)
Anyone who thinks they can raise a child without reminding them about unacceptable behavior in a direct manner is raising a person who'll think that they never will be held accountable.
One brief hard lesson is all thats needed to redirect an intelligent child.
Tell little boys they are animals that cont possibly supress urges and this is what you will get..
Lucky for him he doesn't exist.
I have some grand sons about that age. If you catch them acting that way you have the go ahead to smack them....After I do, that is.
Homeschool ping!
Agreed.
What the heck are 8 graders doing on an Elementary school bus?
In our school district Elementary schools have there own buses, as do Middle schools and High schools, since High school and Middle school have earlier starts than Elementary schools!
Spanking and other forms of corporal punishment are already outlawed in Maryland.
I don't know anything about the area where this happened but in the area I grew up (PA-NY border), we ALL went to school on the same bus - K through 12. Of course, we were out in the sticks and everybody knew everybody else and the bus driver knew EVERYBODY'S parents and was not above disciplining you if need be. My hometown area is still small but I think they built a school so the K thru 8 go to the new school (in PA) and the 9-12 still go to the other (in NY). Before that we were all bussed into NY from PA.
