I agree!

In fact that is how we raise our kids!

They are now 12 and 17 y/o and we we don't spank our 12 y/o anymore ,since reasoning is working and she does remember the spankings she got earlier on when necessary!

Let's not jump to conclusions yet. It could be that the boys are unjustly accused or did something that was misconstrued. In this day and age, you never know. Especially with the difference in the ages - that seems a little fishy.

What the heck are 8 graders doing on an Elementary school bus?

Our buses carry primary, elementary, middle school and high school kids all on the same bus.

That explains a lot.

Thanks.

I guess I was naive to think ,that all School districts ,have the same transportation system in place, all over the country!

My bad!

If my 8th grade boy behaved that way, he'd get smacked upside the head, but good.

Lucky for him he doesn't exist.

I wish more parents like you did. You must be a good one.

Wonder what those boys saw at home to give them the idea to assault first grade girls?

I would also wonder what they are seeing in the classroom, from the instructor.

Not as much as they would be seeing in other areas (i.e. on the computer, in song lyrics, on TV, in movies, on billboards, on the street, etc.).

Parents should insist that school buses be supervised.

Yes, and also first graders shouldn't be riding with eighth graders.

The Public education system is dumping ground for the academicly challenged and mentally ill (as far as teachers go.) Don't get me wrong...there are many good teachers, but at the same token those many when compared to the whole...are too few.

Luckily none of the teachers I know are that way.

In this day and age, you never know.

Decent point. I have seen it go both ways.

"Why is it that some home schooling parents are so insecure that anything bad that happens in any public school is brought up to validate their position? As well as anything good that happens to a home schooled child is brought up again to validate their position?"

Agreed! If I judged all home school kids on the few that I know then I would say all home school kids are judgemental and have no clue how to deal with others.

Good points. My position is that we judge ourselves first. Now does someone know how to get a 2 x 4 out of an eye?

Only because they're being constantly reminded how bad homeschooling is, and how great public schooling is.

Same goes for proponents of public schooling.

Home Depot may be able to help you with that.

It's going to take an awful big pair of tweezers. BTW, You seem like a very well-reasoned person.

I've never been called that before. Once in Africa, when I was held captive by some cannibals, I was once called a "well-seasoned" person but fortunately I escaped.

There must have been something in the papriks--I've heard that is the seasoning to be jolly.

Paprika--yeah I know. Actually, as I have seen the bathroom scale grow ever more afraid as he hears the floor thunder at my approach, I am becoming a more well-rounded person all the time.
