"The women are like the rulers," Kelsey said on a drive with her father during a weekend soccer tournament in Columbus, Ga. "They have the big cars. The dads have the little cars and just go to work." She said her mother thought that her father was too relaxed on the road.

Mr. Link said, "Kathy becomes impatient with me when I'm going 70 in a 65 zone."

"No, Daddy," Kelsey said. "It's when you're going 60."

I run things in my house.

Mrs. Fierro told me to.

After my sister got divorced her four year old son told her he was in charge as he was the 'man of the house'.

Don't know who could have put him up to it. No idea.

Not in our house the wife does not run things, our 3 year old daughter does (she even looks like Napoleon)

Seconded. I'll be damned if I'm going to register with the NY Slimes to read this.

I'm not a "member" of the New York Times and refuse to become one. I take it that this is another article about Metroman.

After dropping off Kelsey and Kristina, Ms. Link has to double back and pick up Kaleigh and take her to golf. She will wait for Kelsey to finish soccer before picking up Kristina and taking her to cheerleading practice. Another mother will have to retrieve Kristina so that Ms. Link can be home when Kaleigh's math tutor comes.

And where does homework and family dinner fit into any of this?

Try this and tell me if it works without registration:

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/01/national/class/01ALPHARETTA-FINAL.html?incamp=article_popular_4.

If you want to get around reg, just go to news.google.com and find the story with the search and the link there should work.

You can usually get a good id/password from bugmenot.com.

They blocked it for me here at the office, but if you have access, you should be able to get a working id.

I let my wife think she runs things, just to keep the peace. She also knows that the line crossing into my Hiroshima Scenario is on a sliding scale.

The Man Song by Sean Morey

I don't take no crap from anybody else but you.
I wear the pants around here...when I'm finished with your laundry.
'Cause I'm a guy you don't want to fight ... when I say "jump" you say "yeah, right".
I'm the man of this house ... until you get home.

What I say goes around here ... right out the window.
And I don't want to hear a lot of whining ... so I'll shut up.
The sooner you learn who's boss around here ... the sooner you can give me my orders, dear.
'Cause I am the head honcho ... but it's all in my head.

And I can have sex anytime ... that you want.
'Cause I'm a man who has needs ... but they're not that important.
And don't expect any flowers from me ... because if I'm not mistaken you prefer jewelry.
I'm the king of my castle ... when you're not around.

And I'll drink and watch sports whenever I want ... to get into trouble.
And I'll come home when I'm good and ready ... to sleep on the couch.
Because a man's got to do what a man's got to do ... and I'm going to do what you tell me to.
Because I'm top dog around here ... but I've been neutered!

Gone are the days of getting on the bike and heading off to school and sports I guess. (Or for the whole day during the summer!)

I guess. My daughter is 14 and never bothered to learn how to ride a bike.
