No "allow" to it. The minutemen can be on public land if they want and private land with permission.

Governor of Texas to allow Minuteman vigil at border Oh, *allow* my arse.
He can't stop it and he knows it.
Like all the other politiwhores, he's just trying to save face now that he realizes that Americans are SICK and TIRED of government ignoring the border, giving illegals a pass, and then stealing money from the LEGAL citizens to support them!
If they really cared, they would have listened 30 or 40 years ago instead of waiting until the situation reached critical mass.

If memory serves, wasn't "Chuy" Hinojosa one of the Dems that fled to Oklahoma when they didn't get their way on redistricting last year?

"I fully understand and can appreciate the frustration that many Texans and others across the nation have with illegal immigration, its potential impact on our national security and the unacceptable burden it is placing on taxpayers, and state and local criminal-justice, education and health care systems," Mr. Perry said in a statement."
Wholly crap! That statement could have come directly from one of many messages I've sent to Gov. Perry's office relating to illegal immigration. Maybe he is paying attention a little or maybe it's just good politics.

"I fully understand and can appreciate the frustration that many Texans and others across the nation have with illegal immigration, its potential impact on our national security and the unacceptable burden it is placing on taxpayers, and state and local criminal-justice, education and health care systems," Mr. Perry said in a statement. Now, if only the former Governor of Texas who occupies the White House would make the same declaration publicly and act on it, it would go a long way in improving his presidential stature.

"policy changes were needed to deal with the problem"
Glad he's not going to deny the Minutemen their rights as US citizens but the above statement could be interpreted two different ways. Hope it's the RIGHT way.
