"Hey how about that new Dr Who show!!!"

A definite improvment on the old model. Anything that can keep 8 million Brits out of the pub on a Saturday evening is doing something right.

I have enjoyed the first 10 or so episodes (I get them as they become available on file sharing systems). I like the 1970s-1980s Doctor Whos myself (Tom Baker & Peter Davison, especially), and I feared for the worst when the new series was announced.

Turned out they are handling it pretty well, with good stories and a nice balance in terms of special effects (not too over-the-top and just a bit cheezy, which is exactly where 'The doctor' should be). The actor playing The Doctor is very good, also, and I was sorry to hear he is leaving the show after the first season's worth of 13 eps.

Just letting you know some of us appreciate and admire The Doctor here in the colonies, and have for decades! (I also love Benny Hill and The Goodies, but surprise my friends with my lack of interest in Monty Python - go figure!)

Cheerio!
