One more thing, a plan to push through a bunch of district judges, which the demorats haven't been blocking, is a further retreat as it takes the attention away from what the demorats have been doing....which is block certain types of nominees. The republicans are in full retreat, and this time no amount of articles about how they really won will change my mind that a republican vote is a wasted vote!
Hard to argue with such reasoned, point-by-point analysis and thoughtful prose. You've convinced me! Did you and johnny attend the same political strategy seminar?
Bolton is not a judicial nominee; his situation would not have been stopped by the nuc option.
C'mon - do you really think Bolton is going to be filibustered? NO WAY!
They are doing their little "debating society" antics right now, as is the Senators' rights. When it comes right down to it, when Frist ends up nuking the Bolton nomination, even HiTLERY and McLame will vote WITH FRIST, if he needs their vote for 50, to disallow filibustering a president's EXECUTIVE nominations. No way that Hitlery is going to want to have to deal with her presidency being hamstrung by the forty most conservative Senators determining who will be on her cabinet. Same with McStain.
Get real here. Bolton's nomination is being held up in the normal Senatorial sense right now, but they have no possible way to filibuster him, and a nuke showdown they will NOT have on Bolton.
