Sen. Clinton Bashes Bush on Environment

NEW YORK - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton criticized the Bush administration's record on unemployment, women's rights and the environment, saying it is "intent upon consolidating and abusing power."

"We are living in a time when the other side doesn't want us to see the facts. Facts are inconvenient — facts about global warming, facts about mercury in the air, facts about people staying unemployed longer," said Clinton, considered a Democratic contender for the presidency in 2008.

The former first lady spoke Monday at a New York Women for Hillary breakfast, which raised $250,000 for her 2006 Senate re-election campaign. She leads potential GOP Senate opponents 2-to-1 in recent polls.

"There has never been an administration, I don't believe, in our history more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," she said of President Bush.

"Whether it's the right to organize and be part of the American labor movement ... whether it's the right to be able to be have a choice when it comes to the most private and intimate decisions that a woman has to make, whether it is to protect the environment — whatever it is that we slowly but surely built up during the 20th century, this current administration and their allies in Congress want to turn the clock back on all of that," Clinton said.

A spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee compared Clinton's comments to recent criticism by Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean.

"It's too bad that New York's senator is now taking her cues from someone who thinks personal attacks are a substitute for an agenda," RNC press secretary Tracey Schmitt said.

Clinton and her aides maintain that her focus is on winning a second Senate term in 2006, not chasing the White House in 2008. But Republicans say her sights clearly are on the presidency.

True to past dem/lib behavior, in a few short weeks Hill will present her plans for this and that, and they will be clones of the republican agenda...which she will deny. She's probably figured out that the voters weren't keen on Kerry's, "I have a plan for defense, the economy, whatever, but my enemies want to steal it, so I can't reveal anything until after I'm elected."

So the Bush administration is supposedly "intent upon consolidating and abusing power."

Convenient memory lapse there in regard to her "husband's" administration.

Classic case of the pot calling the kettle black

Sen. Clinton Bashes Bush on Environment

Yeah...and?

Isn't it pretty safe to safe that this headline is now a template...

Sen. Clinton Bashes Bush on ___________________.

That pretty much covers everything. She says X, friends in the media fill-in-the-blank, done.

The demoKOOK party is a sad, sad state. Course, I've got popcorn, so I'll watch (and enjoy) the trainwreck. But, competition (of markets, ideas, etc.) is a healthy thing. I just can't help but think that having a reasoned logical debate grounded in the actual foundations of this country (life, liberty, and pursuit of property) would be a good thing.

But, even in the sad state the demoCRAPs find themselves in, leave it to some very weak Republicans (RINOs and the PUBBIE current leadership) to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I'm not sure which is more pathetic. At least you have to give the demoSCUM credit...at least they're fighting. The RINOs and PUBBIES seem like they are sitting around, thumbs firmly planted in their anus, letting their enemy "dig their own hole".

Well, if they are digging a hole, it's a foxhole. And, they are set for as long as a battle as you will allow.

A little piece of advice (boxers know this well): you don't "feel your opponent" out; you don't wait to "see what he's got".

No. You fight and fight and fight until your opponent a) is knocked out, b) gives up, or c) the cops pull you off because you refuse to keep fighting even after the bell stops.

I want the demoCREEPs reduced to political rubble. Their ideas deserve to only be mentioned in how not to govern a free country, where life is prized only second to liberty. These scumbags have ruined our country for the last 60 years (institutionalizing socialism, bowing to the "gods of political correctness", etc.). They deserve every single political blow possible...and then some.

But, instead, the RINOs and PUBBIEs keep playing nice. Maybe they're waiting for tea and crumpets? Maybe they are all set to go yatching? Maybe they are all waiting for the train for the next political junket?

The GOP (under the direction of and with the full power and might of the President) needs to call these a--holes out. Call them out for the lying, cheating, scum-bagging, pieces of crap that they are.

I hate to use a pop culture reference when talking about an instituition as important as what it supposed to be a liberty-focused government, but there is a reason why people love iconic figures like John Wayne's character Rooster Cogburn. We love figures who show True Grit.

In more recent times, you can see that attitude in pro "wrestler" Stone Cold Steve Austin. He doesn't take crap from anyone. And, when people try to pass off a load of crap, he calls them out for being "mealy-mouthed, sons-a-bitches" they are.

Stop playing footsy and start destroying your political opponents.

They want "extreme", show them what extreme really is.

</rant>

Sorry. I'm just sick of this crap.

Pretty swift of Clinton. Her husband used presidential orders in his last hours of office to enact environmental protection and regulations that are absurd.

Its a trap.

Because when Bush had to repeal most of the Executive orders he gets branded a non-environmentally friendly president by the MSM.

Now she gets to criticize him on the environment because her husband set the trap.

President Bush has been promoting fuel cell energy and other clean energy. Clinton knows nothing about Bush's agenda.

"There has never been an administration, I don't believe, in our history more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," she said of President Bush.

What, did he fire all the travel office staff, sic the FBI on them, and hire family friends to run it?
