Swift Boat Veteran For Truth John O'Neill Comments on Kerry's 180 'Release'
blogsforbush.com ^ | 6/7/05 | Matt

Posted on 06/07/2005 10:42:35 PM PDT by bitt

UPDATE III: I asked Swift Boat Veteran For Truth John O'Neill for a comment, he tells me:

'We called for Kerry to execute a form which would permit anyone to examine his full and unexpulgated military records at the Navy Department and the National Personnel Records Center.

Instead he executed a form permitting his hometown paper to obtain the records currently at the Navy Department. The Navy Department previously indicated its records did not include various materials.

This is hardly what we called for. If he did execute a complete release of all records we could then answer questions such as (1)Did he ever receive orders to Cambodia or file any report of such a mission (whether at Christmas or otherwise); (2) What was his discharge status between 1970 and 1978 (when he received a discharge) and was it affected by his meetings in 1970 and 1971 with the North Vietnamese? (3)why did he receive much later citations for medals purportedly signed by Secretary Lehman who said he did not know of them; (4) Are there Hostile Fire and Personnel Injured by Hostile Fire Reports for Kerry's Dec. 1968 Purple Heart (when the officer in charge of the boat Admiral Schacte, the treating Surgeon Louis Letson, and Kerry's Division Commander deny there was hostile fire causing a scratch) awarded three months later under unknown circumstances. '

Kerry definitely has something to hide... this is nothing but a whitewash, and Old Media won't dig in even half as deep as they bothered to with Bush's ANG records.

Recently I bought and read O'Neill's book, and I strongly endorse it.

Very well written and documented.

During the election cycle, the media missed a chance to ask Kerry specific questions from the facts laid out clearly in the book.

I donated also and followed their Site as much as this one the last election. But it is over for 'HIM' now, he can just say I signed it back in 2005 (when we all know he didn't), but the MSM will go with it.
The SBVFT will be back in 2008 (if that, what is he, runs again)

My thought when the Boston paper said there was nothing much in this is how many times it took DOD to finally quit finding additional papers associated with G.W. Bush's service. I expect further releases.

I saw a CNN story concerning the grades thing. They said that Kerry's grades weren't any better than Bush's. They never indicated that Kerry's grades were lower than Bush's. Spin city.

At tradesports.com sKerry to win the '08 'Rat nomination is trading for $0.046/share, which equates to roughly a 4.6% chance of him getting the nomination. For comparison, Hillary is trading at $0.474/share, Edwards at $0.068/share, and Algore at $0.054. I have no doubt that Jean Fraude will once again run, but I doubt the 'Rats will be dumb enough to pick him again.

There is no need to impeach Hanoi Kerry from the US Senate

Hanoi Kerry was still a USNR officer while he:

created a hostile environment for all servicemen

Why is Kerry still in the US Senate?

So .. again .. we have a little dancing around the numbers so that Kerry doesn't look too bad.

They really do think we're too stupid to figure it out.

"You will never see his real records, at least not while he is alive."

Ever since I read that his awards were signed years after the events, I suspected he did not want full disclosure of his records. As he is a senator, I suspect he can get things done and his records have been sanitized.

The only hope is that some Ex-POW or someone else has preserved the originals. JF'nK will get his and it won't be long.

I agree, the media focused on Kerry's grades, not substance. Even this morning, Fox is talking about Kerry's grades at Yale. Where are the questions about his naval discharge records and the fact that The Boston Globe printed a piece that's a scam? Let's hope Hill's staff noticed. She'll flatten him.

Instead he executed a form permitting his hometown paper to obtain the records currently at the Navy Department. The Navy Department previously indicated its records did not include various materials..."

The Navy is not covering for Kerry so I don't think this is a "whitewash". It is, however, another classic example of Kerry's personality. We have an almost perfect repetition of the "I voted for it before I voted against it" mentality. Kerry wants to make everyone think he is doing the right thing but is afraid of the consequences of actually doing the right thing, So... he does just enough to be able to say "I signed the SF 180" when, in fact, he signed a truncated SF 180 that does not release all the documents held by the government.

I had an Air Force friend who described this type of tactic when executed by staff weenies as "slow-rolling". You give out just enough to be able to say you did the act but not enough to complete the process. When challenged you quibble over details and request additional guidance that can be argued about. In the end you wear down your opposition by out lasting their tour of duty or span of interest, which ever comes soonest.

In this case John Kerry will try to "slow-roll" this topic forever... He apparently has much to hide. Anyone in government who "deep throats" him to the media risks being charged with violations of the law, which the Democrats will do in a heartbeat if anyone gets the stones to do it.

Remember what happened to the Republican staffers who leaked the Democrats strategy memo... pilloried by the Dems and the press and left swinging in the wind by the Republican leadership...
