My sister just retired after 35 yrs as a flight attendant ,what you wrote is all to true. some of the storys she has told over the years, well I would have been fired for beating the hell out of some of these people.

I'm not ready to concede customer service to the arabs yet

I am. I travel about 200,000 miles a year and the service on most US carriers is dreadful and getting worse. The reality is that air service in the US is quite similar to what happened to train service 40 years or so ago. The only thing proping up the airlines is the fact that foreign carriers cannot compete city to city within the US.

Its all about bad management and greedy Unions. Until that is fixed nothing will get better.
