LOS ANGELES, June 8 - Lindsay Lohan once called the attentions of picture-hungry paparazzi "a blessing." But the 18-year-old film star adjusted her view of aggressive photographers last week after the police say one of them rammed his minivan into her Mercedes on a crowded street here, and at least three others somehow arrived within seconds to shoot her distraught reaction. "A line needs to be drawn in terms of getting violent," she said in an interview on Wednesday. "It was a very frightening experience." Hoping to draw that line, Ms. Lohan is joining with Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake and an A-list of Hollywood actors who are trying to turn the tables on the paparazzi. Spurred by the stars and their representatives, the Los Angeles police and prosecutors have opened a criminal investigation into what they describe as a new breed of photojournalists willing to flout the law, drive recklessly and even slam into celebrities' cars. "The concern is that because of these hyper-aggressive tactics on the part of the paparazzi, someone is going to get hurt or killed," said William W. Hodgman, head of the district attorney's target crimes division.

Proper dealing with the papparazi is the only thing I agree with Sean Penn on, pop em in the nose.
"Proper dealing with the papparazi is the only thing I agree with Sean Penn on..."
Yes, I agree with you. It must be pretty awful to be famous sometimes.
Remember Jackie Kennedy won the first real court battle against one of these photogs. I'm trying to think of his name Ron Gallela? He was just hounding her constantly.
I mostly agree there too, except they (paparatsie) then sue and the star settles out of court for 5 and 6 figures. The photogs win either way.
!!!...Derby-On...!!!
She should have rammed back, that mercedes could have taken the mini-van...
Okay so it's derby season...lol
yeah you got that right.
Let's also remember that they probably killed Lady DI as well....
I wouldn't settle. I don't think Sean settled either. If the scum sue the stars for getting decked the stars should sue the scum for harrasment. If nothing else when the scum sued the star would get their name and could then take out a restraining order, which probably the best, though not emotionally satisfying, solution. Enough restraining orders would put these clowns out of business.
Certainly contributed to it.
I think Elizabeth Taylor hires ex-commando Israeli bodyguards. Maybe the younger celebs should consider hiring the kind of muscle that is used to dealing with the worst sort of terrorists.
There is a pretty good movie about this, "Paparazzi." You really do cheer for the Hollywood star . . . and that's a first for me.
One of the OJ prosecutors.
Opps, they showed up in the preview.
