In a separate agreement, a $100,000 suspended civil penalty from 2002 was reinstated. Even setting aside the fraudulent election results, it looks as though they got their money's worth!

Why don't they have to refund the questionable $7 mill+? I would pay 187K for 7 mill any day!!

In order to obtain significant political rents (subsidies, wealth transfers, welfare, or corporate welfare) a small expenditure is usually necessary, either in the form of campaign contributions, or payment of fines of this trivial kind.

Rational political agents, the literature says, "do the math," make these simple cost-benefit calculations, and act accordingly.

It's also highly inefficient for the consumer-sovereignty based (Market) economy.

And, immoral.

Here in Tennesse the DNC chairmen of the two largest counties both have resigned within the past month because of allegations of criminal activity. The first, chairman of the Davidson County (Nashville) DNC resigned after being charged with child pornography. The second, chairman of the Shelby County (Memphis) DNC and also a state senator, resigned after being charged for taking bribes.

The DNC IS an organized criminal activity.
