No identifiable liberals have A SUCCESSFUL prime-time shows on cable news.
This is off the subject. FOX needs to fix FOX and Friends weekend. It is painful to watch.
Of course it will be an unfair fight, one side has ideas and the other doesn't. Adding more liberals doesn't make it fairer, it just makes it easier for the liberals to shout down their opponents (not that I'm saying Carlson is a conservative, he is a "liberal's conservative", like Colmes is a "conservative's liberal").
Media Matters said it also was concerned that Carlson's show will air back-to-back with another anchored by conservative Joe Scarborough at a time no identifiable liberals have their own prime-time shows on cable news.
Are they trying to say that there are no liberal prime-time shows, are merely none on during the 9-11pm time frame. Because it is certainly true that of the three cable news channels (CNN doesn't really count, does it?) 2 of the three will not have liberals during the 9-11 time period. That is different than saying they have conservatives. Joe is still the closest thing to a conservative on MSNBC. Greta isn't conservative, Hannity/Colmes is about 2/3 conservative, and I'm not sure but I'll give Carlson's show a 2/3 conservative mark as well, even though there are two not quite conservatives up against the one true liberal.
"The deck is stacked," said Brock,
But you can't fix this unless you put the libs on by themselves, and even then you might have to find a way to keep them from talking too much.
"...who promised his group would monitor "The Situation" to see if promises of fairness are kept.
So Kaplan's got at least a couple of viewers!!!
The format was still taking shape last week. Carlson's show will also discuss newspaper opinion columns from across the country and have newsmaker interviews that depart from traditional areas of expertise - John McCain talking sports, for instance.
How will McCain talking sports be distinguishable from McCain talking about legislation, from the point of view of expertise?
Kaplan realized that MSNBC's chief problem was a head-spinning series of changes that robbed it of any identity.
And I thought their problem was an endless stream of lousy shows, hosted be people from both the left AND the right (lest anybody forget Savage and Keyes, and I think Buchanon/Novak for a while)
Kaplan hopes the show is a calling card for his version of MSNBC, smart programming filled with information that leaves viewers feeling like they've learned something new.
Kaplan's idea of learning something new is to make it up, since too many people already know the truth.
Carlson is the biggest p**** on the air. Liberals love him beacuse he is such a wimp and can not defend our side out of a wet paper bag.
If a punk like Jon Stewart swore at me and embarrassed me on national TV, there would have been some challenge instead of a weak chuckle.(maybe like what Chris Everett did to Jim Roem (sp.))
Imus b!tch-slapped bow-tie boy this morning.
Note to Tucker - Ditch the bowtie, consider Sports Clips instead of Fantastic Sam's for your next haircut.
I can't possibly relay how uninterested I am in Carlson's new program. He bores me...MSNBC bores me...I'm bored just writing about him.
Snore!
Heh. The difference between a Pinto, and a Pinto 'Rally Sport' model.
Does that have the hidden headlights?
