I decided to move my home server off of CentOS and back over to Fedora. Ill start pulling the IOS's off of bit-torrent today.

Looking at the improvements for over core3 (http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/release-notes/fc4/#sn-new-in-fc) I see

Improved Security — SELinux is a security architecture that protects applications and uses through finely grained security controls. The targeted policy that has been active since Fedora Core 3 has been improved to cover dozens of more daemons.

Built-in Virtualization Xen is a virtual machine that can securely run multiple operating systems in their own sandboxed domains. Xen has been integrated into Fedora Core to work in a seamless fashion.

I may not wait so long to cutover (I usually give an FC# release a few weeks before going to it)..

Is Fedora recognized as Enterprise Linux by Oracle ?

It's not meant to be Enterprise-ready. The Enterprise edition is call RHEL. Fedora is more along the lines of early-adopter/development/new technology edition.

That being said, I believe the Oracle WILL run under Fedora, but I have not tried it.

No, but all you really need to do to get Oracle to run on it is hack the /etc/redhat-release file to look like a RHEL one:

Fedora Core release 3 (Heidelberg)

To

Red Hat Linux Advanced Server release 2.1AS (Pensacola)

Oracle is aware of this and it is the recommended way to get their products to run with redhat offerings. Oracle 10g will not install on RHEL4 unless you make its RH-release file look like RHEL3 or 2.

Its also going to bark at you because all your packages on FC4 will be newer than the ones oracle is looking for, you can just ignore those (so long as you have a newer on installed)..
