A major earthquake occurred at 22:44:33 (UTC) on Monday, June 13, 2005. The magnitude 7.9 event has been located in TARAPACA, CHILE. The hypocentral depth was estimated to be 111 km (69 miles). (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.)
Rather deep.

Let's all go over to DU and watch them blame the bombing in Iraq for it. That's what they did last time...

Nah!
I've never been down there.
BD is interested in this stuff though!

Looks like it was a deep earthquake, which will hopefully lessen damage.
Will be worrying if these quakes spread to the Yellowstone Park area- with that nasty supervolcano underneath.

Chile just heard about the Jacko verdict and they all fell down laughing.

Looks like an isolated area and 69 mile depth is deep for an earthquake. Prayers for people in the quake area!

I heard on DU that Karl Rove was behind this in order to distract from the Michael Jackson verdict which was distracting the lapdog press from distracting the public attention from the Bush economic collapse and the military failures in Iraq.
