Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and Taliban chief Mullah Mohammad Omar are safe and healthy, a former Taliban commander said.
Commander Mullah Akhtar Usmani told private Geo TV in an interview at an undisclosed site that he cannot disclose their whereabouts.
"We hear his voice. I can vouch that Mullah Omar is alive and commanding the Taliban," he said of Mullah Omar.
As for bin Laden, the most wanted suspect in connection with the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States, the former Taliban commander said, "By the grace of God, he is in good health."

Not that I belive the lying SOS, but I'm glad that Osama is still alive. When our guys catch him in some rat hole, he'll suffer at the hands of infidels, though hopefully not in this country.
He isn't, most likely, and the longer he continues free the more comfort he gives our enemies.

Me too! Heaven forbid that we should actually catch or kill Osama and Zarqawi too early in this conflict.
The world's leftist media would be screaming that any further operations are unjust, since pursuit of these murderers was our ONLY justification for the entire war on terror!

I take exactly the opposite view. Face it, Osama and Zarqawi are inspiring to many because they have managed to withstand the "American machine". Their continued existence as free people is evidence to our enemies that America is weak and can be defeated if they just remain persistent enough.
What did Israel start doing to every figurehead that Hamas tried to set up? Killed them immediately, until Hamas got scared to name anymore. That made Hamas look weak, and hurt the terrorist cause.
Winning the war depends on what the Arab/Iraqi/Afghani people think, not the media, and letting Osama and Zarqawi run loose just encourages those people to think the wrong things.

Just think, if we caught Osama today, we'd have to bring him to the US, put him up at the Hollywood Hilton, hire his chef and mullah, build him his own Mosque and promise him his 72 virgins when dies from old age.
