I don't get it.
Is he claiming this soldier is responsible for the bombing at his "church"?

One wonders if the Rev Fred is on Soro's payroll. He is the perfect provocateur that the media love to profile in order to smear all evangelicals as being deranged fanatics. i have noted other suspiciously bizarre characters such as Fred appearing to try and discredit such efforts as the Klamath Lake farmers water protest or as in Fred's earlier antics opposition to 'hate crimes' laws and making sexual orientation basis for protected class status.

Geez.
Hopefully, some "private citizens" will arrange to be there and stop this nutcase.

I would love to read a response to this man from one of you former or current soldiers that have lost friends in battle or from a family member of a soldier that gave his life for his country. I think those comments would say it all.

I don't know what to say, I am shocked and speechless. What a disgusting and vile person this is.
To protest anyone's memorial service is beyond sick.
I want this guys contact info to send him a short note.
May God have mercy on Phelps' soul because I care not for it.
To: Hatman
phelps was a Gore supporter and also supported saddam hussein.
This guy is probably a democrat plant to make those against the radical homosexual agenda look like nutcases in the press.

I live in Topeka where this wacko is based so I get to see him and his minions on a weekly basis. They'll picket anything. I've personally seen them at churches, classical music festivals, and a talk by Bill Cosby. But protesting soldier's funerals is a whole new low.

You'd need an army to pull me off this guys pummelled corpse he showed up at my sons funeral....

A flier on the Web site of Pastor Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church. . .Which consists of about 10 people - all members of Phelps immediate family.

In 2003, Phelps demanded that he be allowed to erect an anti-gay monument in a Boise public park. To avoid a lawsuit from his group, city officials voted in 2004 that a Ten Commandments monument be moved out of the park.
Any "preacher" that demands a Ten Commandments monument be moved is already a few fries short of a Happy Meal. I hope that, should he decide to turn out for a military funeral, some people kindly and gently speak to him about the error of his ways. I'm thinking of some kind and gentle Airborne-style negotiation tactics...
