If McCain is on the ticket, then I will not vote for him.

I sure won't vote for McCain in any Republican primary, but given the choice between a President McCain and a President Hillary...well, it's a no-brainer. In fact, I'd hold my nose and vote for McCain over any Democrat (I'd make an exception for Scoop Jackson, but somehow I don't think he's running)

ahem..may I modestly point out that I, your humble correspondent, wrote this on FR over a month ago. I'll ping you to it..and leave it to you to decide if it merits a link to here. Modesty permits me from doing so....(G)

If McCain won the primary, I'd vote for him. Better McCain than Hillary, so I don't know what everyone else in this thread is complaining about. I really don't have much of a problem with McCain outside of his ridiculous campaign finance reform package that he passed. The filibuster deal actually is a good thing, and we're seeing why now.

He's pro-life, he's behind the President on Social Security and Iraq, and has a pretty high ACU rating. He's not the Darth Vader that this board tends to make him be all the time. Granted, there are better candidates, but we could do much worse than McCain, especially given that running him would guarantee us the entire moderate independent vote.

Now, I must go, but I will await the flames in my inbox for posting this.

Rudy endorsed clinton in 1996, hard to forget that manuver.

Do you have a link for that? I googled and nothing came up for that. BUT I would vote for RUDY over McCAIN anyday!

They are both losers, IMO.

I especially like the way Jeb got creamed in the last two elections for Governor of Florida. McCains huge loss at the hands of the voters is the stuff of legends.

Yup. Losers.

I've been hearing a lot about Allen here lately. I've been advocating Tommy Franks myself (pipe dream, I know), but would like a more realistic candidate to research. Can you point me to somewhere where I might find some good info on Allen? Tancredo seems to deserve a good look as well.

McCain would make a fine candidate - for the Democrats.

Speculative nonsense. To have Jeb Bush run with McCain is almost, well it is down right laughable.

The nominee for the Republican party that will have the best chance for success is the one who comes out firmly to kick the illegals out of here.

If you think the illegal situation is bad now, just give it two more years.

As far as Jeb is concerned - it's a definite NO!

You must live in Florida. Hehe.

McAnus? Republican Ticket?

He would have to run as an Independent! Even then I still would not vote for him, no matter who is the VP!

If Jeb is in the running, he will have to cut the cords to Mexico or that will be a big fat NO as well!

Rice, Allen?

"We already have a RINO in office. No support for McCain here."

That pretty much sums it up. Although, it might be argued that Bush IS the face of the Republican party. They have not shown themselves willing to reduce the government or fight the liberals on any front.

What's going on with Tommy Franks? Last I heard he was thinking of running for the Senate. I think he would make a good Senator! Any update on that?

How many times does Jeb have to say he isn't interested before people get it?

And I will NOT vote for McCain. Ever.

I can't imagine Jeb being that stupid!! Why would Jeb line up with such a loser? McCain is a viable candidate only in the minds of the leftists who know they can manipulate him. The NYT would endorse McCain and so would most of the blue state Senators. I don't believe core red state Republicans want anything to do with such a loser!

Dear RNC,

If you nominate McCain, you might see him elected. By Democrats.

Don't count on the votes of conservatives.

I guess 1 million and one times according to the MSM! It seems the MSM have picked the guys they want - McCain on the Republican side and Hillary on the Democrat side and that is all we are going to hear about until reality sinks in their little brains!
