The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all Freepers and lurkers in good standing to join us tomorrow afternoon outside the White House as we hold a patriotic counter-protest of the anti-American left.
We will gather on the closed to vehicle traffic part of Pennsylvania Avenue between the White House and Lafayette Park starting at 4:30 p.m. We will stay there through the leftists' rally in the park and peacefully counter-protest them.
Details of the leftists' plans as announced by them:
5:00 p.m. ET in Lafayette Square Park, in front of the White House, a large rally will support Congressman Conyers who plans to deliver to the White House a letter addressed to President Bush and signed by over 500,000 Americans and at least 94 Congress Members. The letter asks the President to respond to questions raised by the Downing Street Minutes.
Among those speaking at the rally will be: Congressman John Conyers (schedule permitting); Congresswoman Barbara Lee (schedule permitting); Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey (schedule permitting); Congressman Maurice Hinchey (schedule permitting); Cindy Sheehan, Co-Founder of Gold Star Families for Peace; John Bonifaz, Co-Founder of AfterDowningStreet.org; Medea Benjamin, Co-Founder of Global Exchange; Stephen Cleghorn, Member of Military Families Speak Out; Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Board Member of Progressive Democrats of America; Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst; Reg Keys, Member of Military Families Against the War, challenger to Tony Blair in last election (flying in from UK); William Rivers Pitt, Reporter for Progressive Democrats of America; Leslie Cagan, National Coordinator of United for Peace and Justice; Kevin Zeese, Director of Democracy Rising.
As you can see, it's an all star cast of Bush haters, leftists and anti-American activists. We won't out number them, but it's important to make a stand. Please make the effort to join us. Bring American flags and signs bearing messages of support for our troops, their Commander-in-Chief and their mission fighting the war on terrorists.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no racism, no profanity, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Yea I heard Lungren is pissed at them for calling Conyers "Chairman" but apparently not pissed off enough because they keep on doing that and Conyer was able to get a room.
I'm in.
Youse guys coming tomorrow?
Trueblackman will be there.
I won't be able to make it. I am trying to get out of town.
Bummer!
Ten years out of power can cause 'Rats to become even more delusional than usual.
Double bummer.
Cool! He can hassle Conyers while we make sure that Pitt wears the Scamdy Stephenson thing around his neck.
I'll be there. BufordP can't make it.
I wish I could be there, bttt.
If there are any FReepers in the greater Richmond area that would be interested in going, I would be happy to drive.
It is VERY important that we support the President at this time, IMHO.
Also, will be there on Friday.
I don't care about Pitt. As for Conyers, we can all give him 'what for.'
Darn, this is counterprotesting the same rally I was complaining about on another thread because it wasn't being held at lunchtime. I was going to swing by & mock them then, but I can't do evenings.
I don't think you're going to be all that outnumbered. I notice all the Congressional ones say "(schedule permitting)" - since no one who wants to be re-elected wants to be seen on the same side of the street as these moonbats, I'll bet nobody's schedule is going to "permit."
"Pitt believed Andy Stephenson.
Now we're supposed to believe him about the
Downing Street Memo?"
There is no there, there in the Downing St. memo. It means nothing except for the opinions of some Brits high up in government. However, if the Bush adminstration fails to come out and fight, and capaign for their ideas, this will become an issue.
I will be there!!!
You guys are going to make me cry.
