The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all Freepers and lurkers in good standing to join us tomorrow afternoon outside the White House as we hold a patriotic counter-protest of the anti-American left.
We will gather on the closed to vehicle traffic part of Pennsylvania Avenue between the White House and Lafayette Park starting at 4:30 p.m. We will stay there through the leftists' rally in the park and peacefully counter-protest them.
Details of the leftists' plans as announced by them:
5:00 p.m. ET in Lafayette Square Park, in front of the White House, a large rally will support Congressman Conyers who plans to deliver to the White House a letter addressed to President Bush and signed by over 500,000 Americans and at least 94 Congress Members. The letter asks the President to respond to questions raised by the Downing Street Minutes.
Among those speaking at the rally will be: Congressman John Conyers (schedule permitting); Congresswoman Barbara Lee (schedule permitting); Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey (schedule permitting); Congressman Maurice Hinchey (schedule permitting); Cindy Sheehan, Co-Founder of Gold Star Families for Peace; John Bonifaz, Co-Founder of AfterDowningStreet.org; Medea Benjamin, Co-Founder of Global Exchange; Stephen Cleghorn, Member of Military Families Speak Out; Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Board Member of Progressive Democrats of America; Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst; Reg Keys, Member of Military Families Against the War, challenger to Tony Blair in last election (flying in from UK); William Rivers Pitt, Reporter for Progressive Democrats of America; Leslie Cagan, National Coordinator of United for Peace and Justice; Kevin Zeese, Director of Democracy Rising.
As you can see, it's an all star cast of Bush haters, leftists and anti-American activists. We won't out number them, but it's important to make a stand. Please make the effort to join us. Bring American flags and signs bearing messages of support for our troops, their Commander-in-Chief and their mission fighting the war on terrorists.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no racism, no profanity, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
He might have been going for a tounge in cheeck laugh there.
"Downing Street Memo Rally"?
Boy, they are getting desparate out there.
Well, maybe I'll get a chance to see the faucet if Bill and I stop by there for pizza before heading to Walter Reed. (hint, hint) You can eat pizza now, right?
First thing I did on release yesterday was to have daughterofTGSL call in an order for a BIG cheesesteak. It didn't last long at all. mmmmmm....PIZZA!
Let me know when you will arrive, I'll have the pizza waiting.
Conyers is "live" on CSPAN Washington Journal right now.
We have a caller on hold on the "support President Bush line", awaiting his opportunity to comment to Conyers...
We'll call you when we depart for your place. It took us about 60 minutes last time.
It'll be a lot nicer eating that sloppy pizza at the table rather than on the street corner.
Heh!
Maybe the missus and I can crash the party (she's in Noo Yawk today).
The post FReep event 2 wks ago sure was fun!
Conyers kangaroo briefing on the Downing Street Memo is on CSPAN3 now. Started at 2:30pm
If there's any way at all for you to head down to Lafayette Park to counter-protest these idiots, please do so - ASAP!
Sauropod just stopped by to pick up people and equipment, after two hours in his car. We need people down there to stand up to all the lies being spewed by the traitors now speaking on Capitol Hill.
Kristinn and Sauropod have entered Lafayette Park. No hordes of lefties to greet them. They see someone bringing in a podium for the "distinguished speakers" to rant from. No stage visible. Veterans for Peace flag visible, small speaker set up, a couple dozen people. Still don't see a stage.... More as it becomes available from the scene at Lafayette Park.
...
Waiting for an update.
Eight Freepers vs. approximately two hundred moonbatz now at Lafayette Park.
More in a few minutes....
Thanks for the update
Conyers and his Gang just ended their meeting
So far radio interviews with Fox Radio News and another one I just forgot (CRS).
Interviews with local TV Channel 7 and SKY News and Fox News radio.
Trueblackman is on hold with Mark Levin's radio show....
"When invited to come over and speak with an Iraqi and tell him why he should not have been liberated from Saddam Hussein's reign of terror by George Bush, John Conyers declined and kept walking, Maxine Waters gave us the 'talk to the hand' signal, and then she shook her booty at Nofel."
" The interesting thing is that Sheila Jackson-Lee accepted the offer and invited Nofel to walk with her back to her car because she said she had an important vote to get back to. Nofel went off with her (he is back safe with the DC Chapter now) and Sauropod went with them, to film the conversation. More later. The rally has ended."
Yes, Kristinn, they did call Conyers, "Mr. Chairman." And it is a show trial, a kangaroo court, a shadow government foray.
I'll be bringing a treat for those who show. These are good.
Excellent work as usual.
Protesters demonstrate in favor of the Bush Administration outside the White House in Washington, DC, June 16, 2005 as members of the U.S. House of Representatives deliver a petition signed by over 500,000 Americans and 94 members of U.S. Congress asking President George W. Bush to respond to questions raised by the Downing Street Minutes. The Downing Street memo produced for British Prime Minister Tony Blair in July 2002 portrayed Bush as inevitably invading Iraq and said 'intelligence and facts' were being fixed eight months before the March 2003 invasion.
