It reminds of an old joke during Nixons's time: A guy at the race track watches his horse lose a race, rips up his betting slip, stomps it into the mud, and yells, "That fooking Nixon!".
One study published in Scientific American (in 2004)concluded that heat flows will result in the ocean adsorbing atmospheric heating and preventing atmospheric measurements from rising for between 50 and 100 years. So nothing is going to happen fast where the ocean water is concerned.
