I would rather have a conservative lawyer than a conservative non-lawyer any day. It's easier to make laws that advance your cause when you know how the legal system works. Look at what the Dems have done with the ABA and the judiciary on their side.
And I would rather have someone who has had to live a real life and work real jobs under those laws the lawyers wrote to screw him at every turn and tell him how to run his life and his business.
