ADL to Senator Durbin: Inappropriate Comparison to Nazi Tactics Unacceptable |
|
New York, NY, June 16, 2005 ... The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today called on Senator Richard J. Durbin (D-IL) to repudiate his remarks and apologize to the American people for distorting an important issue, with an inappropriate comparison to Nazi tactics. In a speech on the Senate floor on June 14th on the situation at Guantanamo Bay he likened American treatment of prisoners to what "must have been done by Nazis... that had no concern for human beings." Following is the text of the letter:

Lol! Dippy Durbin did it again.
Let's see how the MSM goes after him not that the ADL has fired a shot across his bow.
ADL: Not exactly part of the "right wing". It is getting deep for Durbin.
Good for the ADL!!!
I'd rather see someone ask JOE LIEBERMAN about Durbin's comments.
I must confess, I was surprised to see this.
He's either privately starting to realize this or he is nuts.
Have these idiots no conscience ????
I'm sure that's coming very soon.
I was hoping for this yesterday right after I read about Durbin's remarks. Good for the ADL!
The Dems would be a lot better off if they would just shut up and sit there and look stupid! I think Durbin's getting a lot of heat over this.
I knew as soon as he brought up Nazi death camps he was going to hear for them.
It's nice to know that someone at the ADL listens to The Savage Nation.
Has Dean issued a statement on this? If he hasn't I hope he does soon.
This traitor is finished.
he's such a nimrod.
I am not always a fan of the ADL, which has been known to climb out on a few weak limbs itself. But in this case, it has done exactly the right thing. I would ask anyone reading this to please write a letter to the editor of your local paper. The more that get published, the more heat will be placed upon Senator Sedition and his ilks in Congress, the media, and Hollywood.
I have sent mine to the Chicago Tribune, a recent entrant into the NYT copycat club.
I hope the heat gets turned up on Dirtbag Durbin.
Good - for far too long they attacked conservatives and gave liberals a pass. At least one of these groups is trying to be consistent.
