I would suggest that you are the one in this discussion that doesn't seem to understand Islam very well.
peace-loving American Muslims is an oxymoron in my book.
My religion teaches me that "by their fruits you shall know them". It helps me sort out the real good guys from the bad. Maybe the mainstream media is hiding them from me, but I fail to see any examples of any fruit coming out of modern day Islam.
