I'd be happier too if they just continued on the road to Damascus.

"Marines and Iraqi soldiers continued operations through the night securing key objectives in and around the city [of Karabila]," Capt Pool said.
Bump - tears for MSM.

(US socialist liberalism would be dead without the help of politicians who claim to be conservative.)

Is it "rebels" we are fighting over there? I think not, these animals are Saudi, Algerian, Jordanian, Chechen, Pakistani and they are trained and equipped by enemies of the United States. Rebels poppycock!

"Now that's in intriging paragraph. I'd love to know who this guy is so I'd know that finding him sprawled on a picture of Saddam means."
Could be as simple as this. The leader had voiced he no longer will support the various Baathist/Sadddam loyalist, including many how should I say it, former Iraqi officers, that live in the towns south and southwest of Baghdad known as the Triangle of Death area (TOD). So it was time for him to go. Our Army and Marines, alternately for the past two years have been performing cordon and seatch operations in this area, and we have an established FOB just north of the town of Al Mahmoudidya on route #8. Much of the Sunni/Baathist part of the insurgency has been operating out of this area parallel to what was going on in Fallujah. Fallujah no longer is an alternative for them, nor for the foreign terrorist to set up shop, so they must operate out of the dozen or so towns south of Baghdad in the TOD. Of course they also have moved northerly into Al Anbar in the many towns now being sighted in for attack by our Marine Corps., as you are aware of with operation Matador kicking off a few weeks back, and leading up to the just finished op Spear. There is much work yet to be done throughout Al Anbar province.

The RNC needs to get it's act together as well. They need to grow a spine when it comes to confronting the Democrats and quit acting like they have done something wrong by being the political majority in this country right now. Our politicians betrayed our Vietnam Vets and I see that they are trying to do the same thing again with the help of our lying treacherous media. Instead of focusing on a few alleged acts of indiscretion why do they not bring up the thousands of kind acts being committed daily by our men and women in uniform? Why can't idiots like Durbin mention these things on the senate floor?
