NEW YORK Could it be Clinton versus Giuliani in 2008? If the two major political parties were selecting their nominees today, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton would be the choice for Democrats and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for the Republicans.
In the latest FOX News poll, Clinton trounces the competition and receives the backing of 44 percent of self-described Democrats. Familiar names the partys 2004 ticket follow her: Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry receives 17 percent and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards 14 percent.

It won't be Clinton, or Giuliani.
No one is stupid enough to nominate the outright frontrunner, not this time.
2008 is going to be a year of dark horses, moreso on the Democratic side, though I still think the GOP could end up with a dark horse nominee.
Clinton/Clark vs. Gingrich/Romney
My Prediction (more so wishful thinking on the right side)
Ah, the misguided influence of name recognition.
Once again, it won't be Hillary, if just because
The other female politicians with a desire to be President arent just going to roll over for Queen Hillary.
Now, I'd love for Hillary to be the opponent, cause the floor would be mopped with her, but wishful thinking can't supplant reality, and reality says, it ain't gonna be Hillary
On C-SPAN this week, John Kerry looked like he has had a face-lift or a really big dose of Botox -- he must still believe he can win in '08 -- Rush seems to think he is running.
Kerry has maintained his campaign staff, still has a war chest, checks in with donors and snapped at another democratic senator for endorsing Hillary by saying "why are you endorsing my future opponent".
He is running.
He feels entitled to the Presidency.
At this point, it's all a name recognition contest.
Right now, the media drives who is popular and who isn't. As the primaries get going, the numbers will change dramatically.
Romney is your typical New England RINO. Since the entire rest of the state is run by far left liberal kooks, he tends to come across as fairly conservative. If Romney were running any other state, he would look like a moderate or perhaps even a liberal republican.
I agree - watch the dems nominate a popular democrat Governor or Senator from a Red state, and the GOP nominate a popular Governor or senator from a Blue State.
Smart money.
Are there any true fiscal conservatives that have any potential? As far as im concerned Bush is a liberal because he spends like its nobodys business. All I want is someone who wants to cut taxes and spending. Thats all I ask for.
That's a kneejerk comment that people spit out without thinking just because he's from Massachusetts. Mitt Romney is more conservative than most of the Republicans in office today - from any state.
I used to say Allen/Rice, but I dont think Condi wants it.
Rudy wont be in.
It wont be Tancredo, probably not Delay either.
Cheney/Allen is my guess for now. But its too early to really care at this point.
